More About Scott

What activities do you like to do outside of the office?

Outside of the office, I enjoy exploring new restaurants with my wife, golfing, playing basketball, and cooking.

How have you benefited from the mentorship program?

I believe that the mentorship program at Andersen has been a huge help for me in terms of maintaining a healthy perspective on career progression. In our industry, it can be very easy to get bogged down in the details. However, speaking with a mentor can be tremendously helpful because it helps me see where I am at in my career from a big picture perspective, and where I want my career to grow. As a whole, I think that those considering a career with Andersen should take full advantage of the people here and the resources provided. We have some of the most experienced tax professionals around, and I’ve always found that everyone (mentors included) is willing to take the time to help you grow and achieve your goals.

How do you balance work with your personal life?

I'll admit that work can be busy and stressful at times. However, this does not mean that you need to bring it home every night. Whenever I am away from the office, I try to fully commit to personal time to maintain a healthy balance. This can be tough to do, especially during busy season, and sometimes I will have to bring work home. Regardless, this does not mean that you have to think about work 24/7, and it’s important that you allow yourself to be happy outside of the office as well.
