Andersen Tax Takes Part in TEI Portland Conference
Tax Executives Institute (TEI) is the preeminent association of in-house tax professionals worldwide. Members are business executives who are responsible for taxation matters on an administrative or policy-making level, or whose work is otherwise primarily concerned with the challenges of business taxation. TEI members are accountants, lawyers, and other corporate and business employees who are responsible for the tax affairs of their employers in an executive, administrative, or managerial capacity.
TEI’s Portland Regional Conference takes place at The Nines hotel in downtown Portland from Sunday, May, 22 through Wednesday, May, 25. Mary Duffy, Jeff Malo and Adam Steinberger, who is moderating, are scheduled to participate in a Federal Tax Update panel on Monday, May 23 from 8:45AM – 10:00AM. The session will cover recent developments in Federal taxation, including a review of the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015 (PATH Act) which makes permanent, extends, or enhances many key Federal tax provisions.
In addition, on Tuesday, May 24, State & Local Tax expert Eric Anderson will be speaking on the topic of Global Workforce along with Monaeo, a data-driven tech company that helps businesses and their employees use location data and analytics to make smart decisions.
Mary Duffy is a Managing Director in Andersen Tax’s US National Tax office and is the co-leader of Andersen Tax’s accounting methods team. Immediately prior to joining Andersen Tax, Mary served as one of two Legislation Tax Accountants with the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) from 2011 to 2013. While with the JCT, Mary worked with key tax personnel within Congress on the development and drafting of tax legislation as well as various tax reform proposals.
Jeff Malo is a Managing Director in the Andersen Tax US National Tax office, where he focuses on federal and state research credits. He has over 15 years of experience in both tax and government service.
Adam Steinberger, the Office Managing Director of the firm’s Silicon Valley office, has over 18 years of domestic and international tax experience serving clients from emerging growth companies to large multinational enterprises. He advises both publicly-held and private businesses in a variety of industries, including semiconductor, software, manufacturing, biotechnology, retail, media and real estate.
Eric Anderson leads the San Francisco Bay Area state and local tax practice of Andersen Tax. He focuses on income tax planning and compliance, sales and use tax transaction planning, mergers and acquisitions, franchise tax matters, and administrative tax controversies. Eric has extensive experience with unitary tax planning, business and nonbusiness issues, and entity structuring to manage multistate tax liabilities.
