Berard & Delgado to Present at the Boston Estate Planning Council

The Boston Estate Planning Council is a multi-disciplinary community of over 700 estate and wealth planning professionals.  The Council provides educational programs and networking opportunities to help its members build and strengthen relationships, learn about ideas and strategies, and share thought leadership.

Laura Berard and Sue Delgado will be moderating a session at the Boston Estate Planning Council's February Member Round Table Breakfast on February 25, 2016 at the Hilton Boston Downtown. “No One Likes Surprises: Tax Traps for Advisors” will take a look at the tax implications of estate and gift tax planning techniques as well as how to avoid some of the most common tax “traps” that advisors can fall victim to, including not proving out assumptions through modeling, respecting the form of the transaction, and misconceptions about giving to charity.

Laura Berard is a member of the Andersen Private Client Services group and works with wealthy families and their closely-held businesses, trusts, and private foundations. Laura focuses on income, estate and gift tax planning and compliance, wealth transfer and business succession planning, and charitable giving structuring and strategies.

Sue Delgado has over 18 years of experience advising high net-worth individuals, their families and closely held businesses. Her practice focuses on tax consulting and compliance services for individuals, fiduciaries and related entities. Her experience includes developing and implementing multigenerational wealth transfer plans, addressing multistate fiduciary tax issues, determination of qualified small business stock status of securities, tax issues related to individuals working abroad as well as foreign nationals working in the United States, and gifting strategies to accomplish family objectives.
