Duffy Speaking at the 19th Annual Tax Policy & Practice Symposium in Washington, D.C.

The Tax Council Policy Institute (TCPI) is a non-profit and non-partisan public policy research and educational organization. TCPI was created to help bring about a better understanding of significant federal tax policies that impact businesses and the national economy through careful study, thoughtful evaluation and open discussion. TCPI’s premier event is the Annual Tax Policy & Practice Symposium which is held each February in Washington, DC. For the past 18 years, these symposia have played a critical role in helping to shape the debate, define the issues, and shed light on important tax issues.

Mary Duffy, Andersen Managing Director, has been selected to speak at the 19th Annual Tax Policy & Practice Symposium in Washington, D.C. on February 16, 2018. She will be a panelist speaking on Tax Reform: Domestic Tax Provisions and Possible Consequences for Businesses. The session will explore practical implications of tax reform on U.S. business activities, potential intended and unintended consequences for different industries and business structures—corporations and pass-through entities and capital market reactions and possible implications for the M&A market.

Mary Duffy is a Managing Director in Andersen’s US National Tax office and is the co-leader of Andersen’s accounting methods team. Mary also advises clients on tax policy and legislative matters and is a frequent speaker for Tax Executive Institute, BNA seminars, Andersen’s Family Office Roundtables and other events. Mary works with businesses of all sizes and structures, including managing accounting methods implementation projects, advising on issues arising in IRS examinations, and consulting on the financial statement implications of such issues under Accounting Standards Codification 740.
