Freda Speaking at the 2018 ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars

The Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit educational association serving over 4100 members representing approximately 1450 corporations, firms, or taxpayers throughout the United States and Canada. It is the only professional organization that educates, certifies and establishes strict codes of conduct for state and local income, property and sales & use tax professionals who represent taxpayers.

The ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars are designed for individuals interested in state and local income, sales, use, and ad valorem taxation. Over the course of three seminars, a distinguished and multidisciplinary faculty will lead participants in a practical examination of current state and local tax issues facing different businesses/industries. The ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars take places March 19-23, 2018 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New Orleans. Raymond Freda, Andersen Managing Director, will be speaking on two panels at the conference. The first panel will include a comprehensive review on state credit and incentives. It will cover the credits and incentives programs for businesses expanding or starting new operations in various states. The other panel will focus on ethics and multi-jurisdictional practice issues. The session speakers will review the ethical obligations facing state and local tax practitioners representing their clients in a multi-jurisdictional environment.

Ray Freda has over 19 years of experience in state and local tax and advising clients with respect to income/franchise, capital, gross receipts, sales and use, property, employment and other state industry specific excise taxes. In addition, he has extensive transactional experience including sell side tax planning and EBITDA enhancement, due diligence, state tax structuring, transfer tax analysis and remediation and post-acquisition integration and planning.
