Garfield Honored as Appraisal Institute’s Volunteer of Distinction
The Appraisal Institute is the nation’s largest professional association of real estate appraisers; Region VII consists of Arizona, Hawaii, Southern California, Southern Nevada and Guam.
WTAS Director, Eric B. Garfield, was recognized today as the Appraisal Institute’s June “Volunteer of Distinction” for Region VII.
“Eric B. Garfield is an excellent ambassador for the Appraisal Institute,” said Appraisal Institute President Sara W. Stephens, MAI. “We’re privileged to have members like Eric who actively contribute to the real estate valuation profession and to their local communities every day.”
Garfield is the Public Relations Committee chair of the Southern California Chapter. He served as Valuation for Financial Reporting Summit co-chair in 2011; Education Committee chair in 2010, IRS Valuation Summit co-chair in 2010 and 2011, alternate regional representative in 2009 and regional representative from 2007-2008. He serves as a discussion leader for the Appraisal Institute’s Leadership Development and Advisory Council and was a member in 2009 and 2011. He became a member of the Appraisal Institute in 1997 and received his MAI designation in 2008.
He has been a director with WTAS in Los Angeles since 2009, and has been involved in the real estate valuation profession for 15 years.
