Garfield to Speak at Appraisal Institute Annual Meeting
The Appraisal Institute is a global membership association of professional real estate appraisers, with nearly 23,000 members in nearly 60 countries throughout the world. Its mission is to advance professionalism and ethics, global standards, methodologies, and practices through the professional development of property economics worldwide.
WTAS Director, Eric Garfield, will be presenting on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This panel will look at issues related to real estate valuation in financial reporting in an effort to help Appraisal Institute members successfully market their services within the financial reporting arena. The panel will include both real estate valuation professionals versed in financial reporting issues as well as those who use the services
Garfield will also present Common Problems in Valuation for Internal Revenue Service, an overview of current issues that the IRS is dealing with when working with appraisers. The program will deal with topics including explanation of adjustments, report quality, issues with donation valuations, and other timely topics.
