Hirschfield to Chair Session on Tax Planning for Founders & VCs

The American Bar Association (ABA) is one of the world’s largest voluntary professional organizations, with nearly 400,000 members and more than 3,500 entities. It is committed to doing what only a national association of attorneys can do: serving their members, improving the legal profession, eliminating bias and enhancing diversity, and advancing the rule of law throughout the United States and around the world.

The ABA’s 17th Annual Tax Planning Strategies – U.S. and Europe takes place April 5-7, 2017 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Arts Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. Michael Hirschfield will chair a session titled, “Investing in Startup Companies: Tax Planning for the Founders, VCs and Employees”. This session, which highlights the opportunities and ways to overcome obstacles and pitfalls that can occur in startup companies, will discuss choice of entity and the impact on tax and capital in places like the United States and Ireland.

Michael Hirschfeld focuses on corporate, international and partnership tax planning and compliance. Michael has over 40 years of experience with tax issues that affect partnerships/LLCs, REITs, cross-border investing, real estate acquisition, finance and investment, private equity, distressed debt, mergers and acquisitions, pharmaceutical, energy, pharmaceutical and clean technology clients.
