Jim Hogan Presented at the Palm Beach County Estate Planning Council Meeting
The Palm Beach County Estate Planning Council is a non-profit organization with over 170 members who practice estate planning in the area. These members come from different career backgrounds including insurance professionals, wealth managers, attorneys, and accountants. The mission of the PBCEPC is to establish an environment for member collaboration and increase the value of estate planning services offered to clients. The council is a member of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC), which aims to connect estate planning individuals and affiliated estate planning councils.
PBCEPC held a membership dinner meeting on October 17, 2017 in Palm Beach, FL. Andersen Tax is a sponsor of the PBCEPC. Jim Hogan, Andersen Tax Managing Director, presented on recent developments in the estate and gift tax area. There were approximately 80 people in attendance at the meeting.
Jim Hogan has over 35 years of legal and accounting experience and was most recently a Branch Chief in Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Office of the Chief Counsel. In that role, he had responsibility for all matters relating to estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues. In addition, he reviewed briefs filed by IRS in the United States Tax Court and memoranda to attorneys in the Department of Justice. Jim is a part of the US National Tax team in the Andersen Tax Washington, D.C. office location, serving as a resource for international taxation.
