MacNeil to Speak on Merger & Acquisition Issues

PLI’s event, “Tax Strategies for Corporate Acquisitions, Dispositions, Spin-Offs, Joint Ventures, Financings, Reorganizations & Restructurings”, takes place December 3-5 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City in California.
Ellen MacNeil will take part in the Tax Accounting Issues in Mergers and Acquisitions panel to discuss tax accounting issues arising in taxable and tax-free acquisitions and dispositions; treatment of M&A expenses; success-based fees; milestone payments; break-up fees; abandoned transactions; capitalized costs; recent regulations; and accounting method issues.
Ellen leads the Andersen Tax National Tax Office. She has over 30 years of experience in tax consulting for major U.S. businesses. A member of the board of directors of The Tax Council, she has also served as chair of the ABA Taxation Section’s Tax Accounting Committee and chair of the AICPA’s Tax Accounting Committee. She has chaired the ABA Taxation Section’s Committee on Government Submissions and has also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the AICPA’s Tax Division.
