Merickel to Speak on Illinois Tax Tribunal
The Chicago Tax Club is a nonprofit association consisting of individual tax professionals employed by corporations and other businesses. The principal function of the organization is providing educational and networking events, in order to assist our members in identifying and resolving tax compliance, planning and audit issues relating to their employers.
The next meeting of The Chicago Tax Club will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Gleacher Center in Chicago, IL. Carrie Merickel will speak with other tax professionals during the Indirect/ Operational Taxes session on the topic of Illinois' Independent Tax Tribunal – Taxpayer Benefits To Consider. Discussions will include an overview of the Illinois Independent Tax Tribunal including its establishment, jurisdiction, procedures, decisions and potential changes. The session will also address when the tax tribunal should be considered to resolve Illinois sales tax issues as well as best practices in anticipation of utilizing the tribunal.
