WTAS Presents at TEI Event
Tax Executives Institute (TEI) is the preeminent association of in-house tax professionals worldwide. Members are business executives who are responsible for taxation matters on an administrative or policy-making level, or whose work is otherwise primarily concerned with the challenges of business taxation. TEI members are accountants, lawyers, and other corporate and business employees who are responsible for the tax affairs of their employers in an executive, administrative, or managerial capacity.
Ellen Macneil, Eric Andersen, Mary Duffy, Adam Steinberger and Dennis Minich will present at the next TEI meeting, August 28, 2014 at the Biltmore Hotel & Suites in Santa Clara, California.
This seminar, Federal Tax Update and California Developments will provide updates on various Federal and California tax topics such as Section 1099, tax implications for issuers and holders of debt modifications, stock-based compensation and accounting method changes.
Ellen MacNeil leads the WTAS National Tax Office. She has over 30 years experience in tax consulting for major U.S. businesses. Prior to joining WTAS she was a partner with Deloitte Tax LLP, and with Arthur Andersen in their National tax practices.
Eric Anderson leads the San Francisco Bay Area state and local tax practice of WTAS. He focuses on income tax planning and compliance, sales and use tax transaction planning, mergers and acquisitions, franchise tax matters, and administrative tax controversies. Eric has extensive experience with unitary tax planning, business and nonbusiness issues, and entity structuring to manage multistate tax liabilities.
Mary Duffy is a Managing Director in the WTAS National Tax Office. From July 2011 to July 2013, Mary served as a Legislation Tax Accountant with the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT). While with the JCT, Mary worked with key tax personnel within Congress in the development and drafting of tax legislation as well as various tax reform options.
Adam Steinberger has over 18 years of domestic and international tax experience serving clients from emerging growth companies to large multinational enterprises. He advises both publicly-held and private businesses in a variety of industries, including semiconductor, software, manufacturing, biotechnology, media and real estate.
Dennis Minich has over 38 years of tax experience. Dennis specializes in compensation and employee benefit issues, primarily relating to qualified retirement plans, nonqualified plans, employee health and welfare benefits and executive compensation.
