Zemsky and Freda to Speak at Metcircle New York

Metcircle is a networking organization founded by Preston Tsao in 1991 for ultra high net worth families. Based in New York City, the group has approximately 100 member families, located primarily in the New York metropolitan area but also in Florida, Illinois, Texas and around the world. Recently, Metcircle formed subgroups in Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

WTAS Managing Directors Kenneth Zemsky and Raymond Freda will present on New York state and city taxes on February 1, 2012 at the Metcircle meeting. Zemsky will make it clear what snowbirds and commuters have to watch out for and document in regards to their state and city taxes. In addition he will go over the NYS insidious "Convenience of the Employer Doctrine" under which an employee working for a NY firm gets tagged for days working outside the state if he does so merely for his own convenience. Zemsky will also go over state and city current audit tactics. Freda will cover the techniques for avoiding state and local taxes on an anticipated major capital gain including other technical matters.
