Duffy to Speak at Practising Law Institute Events

Practising Law Institute (PLI) is a non-profit continuing legal education organization chartered by the Regents of the University of the State of New York, founded in 1933. PLI is dedicated to providing the legal community and allied professionals with the most up-to-date, relevant information and techniques which are critical to the development of a professional, competitive edge.

PLI is hosting a program called Tax Strategies for Corporate Acquisitions, Dispositions, Spin-Offs, Joint Ventures, Financings, Reorganizations & Restructurings 2017. Mary Duffy, Andersen Managing Director is co-presenting at the Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA conferences. The Chicago program takes place from November 15-17, 2017 at the Hotel Allegro and the Los Angeles program takes place from December 6-8, 2017 at the Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City. Mary’s presentation is titled Tax Accounting Issues in Mergers and Acquisitions and it focuses on tax accounting issues arising in taxable and tax-free acquisitions, dispositions and recapitalizations; treatment of M&A expenses; and accounting method issues.

Mary Duffy in Andersen’s U.S. National Tax office and is the co-leader of Andersen’s accounting methods team. Her experience includes advising clients on complex tax accounting methods issues. Mary has years of experience practicing before IRS National Office handling accounting method change and ruling requests.
