Feinberg to Moderate at American Bar Association, Tax Section May Meeting
The American Bar Association’s Tax Section May Meeting takes place in Washington, D.C., May 8-10, 2014. Founded in 1878, The American Bar Association is committed to supporting the legal profession with practical resources for legal professionals while improving the administration of justice, accrediting law schools, establishing model ethical codes, and more. It is one of the world’s largest voluntary professional organizations, with nearly 400,000 members and more than 3,500 entities.
Director Jane Trachtenberg Feinberg will be the moderator for Tax Accounting Issues in the Retail Industry. The panel will focus on tax accounting issues in the retail industry, including implementation of the tangible property regulations and anticipated industry guidance, Sec. 199, and inventory issues. The panel will also discuss legislative developments affecting the industry.
Jane Trachtenberg Feinberg has over 16 years of experience advising domestic and multinational businesses. She is a member of the WTAS Commercial group, based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Jane assists clients in numerous industries, in particular manufacturing, media and entertainment, gaming, retail, and technology. She has experience with tax accounting methods and periods including income deferral methods and capitalization questions; and corporate tax issues including mergers and acquisitions, tax-free reorganizations, corporate distributions, earnings and profits, subsidiary basis, and loss limitations due to ownership changes.
