Andersen Presenting at TEI Chicago State Tax Meeting

Tax Executives Institute (TEI) is the preeminent association for in-house tax professionals worldwide. The TEI Chicago Chapter is holding a state tax meeting on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 8:30am - 5:00pm. Andersen Managing Directors, Ray Freda, Dorice Pepin, Cornelia Schnyder, and Jim Tauber, along with Director Carrie Merickel, will present during the event. In addition to the meeting's focus on indirect and direct state tax, topics will include Wayfair Decision - Indirect and Direct Tax Implications, SALT Deduction Workaround, and State Impact of 965/GILTI/BEAT/FDII/163(j).

Ray Freda has over 19 years of experience in state and local tax and advising clients with respect to income/franchise, capital, gross receipts, sales and use, property, employment and other state industry specific excise taxes. In addition, he has extensive transactional experience including sell side tax planning and EBITDA enhancement, due diligence, state tax structuring, transfer tax analysis and remediation and post-acquisition integration and planning.

Dorice Pepin has over 30 years of experience advising clients in many areas of state and local taxation, including tax credits and incentives, and income, franchise, sales/use, and gross receipts taxes. She has served retailing, manufacturing and financial services companies in planning for the unique implications of multistate income and sales/use tax provisions on business activities.

Cornelia Schnyder is a Managing Director in US National Tax for Andersen. Cornelia has over 17 years of experience in partnership and S corporation taxation. She has advised partnerships, S corporations, and limited liability companies on a broad variety of tax matters.

Carrie Merickel has over 10 years of experience advising clients on various state and local tax matters, such as income/franchise, sales/use, gross receipts and state credits and incentives. Her experience includes managing clients’ multistate income tax compliance, advising clients on state and local tax law nuances and opportunities, tax controversy, nexus studies and mitigation assistance, sales and use tax consulting, negotiating credit and incentive opportunities and state and local tax due diligence assistance.

Tax Executive Institute members are business executives who are responsible for taxation matters on an administrative or policy-making level, or whose work is otherwise primarily concerned with the challenges of business taxation. TEI members are accountants, lawyers, and other corporate and business employees who are responsible for the tax affairs of their employers in an executive, administrative, or managerial capacity.
