Freda to Present at Two Interstate Tax Corporation Conferences

Interstate Tax Corporation, now in its 24th year of doing business, continues to train and update state tax practitioners on how to properly navigate the interstate tax system. With Caryl Nackenson-Sheiber at its helm, the company has dedicated itself to the education of multistate tax professionals in industry, consulting and government through four seminars held in the spring and fall of each year and its publication, Interstate Tax Insights.

Ray Freda will present “Ethics and Managing the Sales & Use Tax Function” followed by “Preparing for Audits and Litigation,” at the Courtyard Marriott Upper East Side on June 10th in New York, NY during the Sales & Use Planning Conference. The ethics section will cover structuring the sales and use tax function to maximize effectiveness while complying with personal ethical standards and those set by the AICPA, ABA, state CPA societies and bar associations. “Preparing for Audits and Litigation” discusses how to handle a sales or use tax audit, from the arrival of the audit notice to the post-audit review.

On June 11, 2014 in the same venue, Ray will present “How the Interstate Tax System Works/Jurisdiction and Nexus,” for the Interstate Tax Planning Conference which is an intensive three-day immersion into the concepts, problems and planning opportunities involved primarily with state income taxation of multistate business designed for the beginner to intermediate level practitioners.

Raymond Freda has over 15 years of state and local tax experience in advising clients with respect to income/franchise, gross receipts, sales and use, property, employment, and other state industry-specific excise taxes. He represents corporate and individual clients during state tax audits, conciliation conferences, and other administrative proceedings.
