Freda, Zemsky and Pepin to Speak at the Chicago Tax Club
The Chicago Tax Club, organized in 1933, is a nonprofit association consisting of individual tax professionals employed by corporations and other businesses. The principal function of our organization is providing educational and networking events, in order to assist our members in identifying and resolving tax compliance, planning and audit issues relating to their employers.
The Chicago Tax Club Summer Seminar takes place on June 26, 2014 at the Saddle & Cycle Club in Chicago, IL.
Dorice E. Pepin will moderate a panel including Kenneth D. Zemsky and Raymond J. Freda on New York State Franchise tax. New York’s overhaul of its franchise tax code has ushered in sweeping changes that will affect every business in New York. This session will educate participants about the details of these changes, including a discussion of any potential additional changes by the State and whether New York City will follow suit.
Dorice Pepin has over 30 years of experience advising clients in many areas of state and local taxation. She helps companies with planning for the effects of business acquisitions, reorganizations, tax examinations and changes in state and local tax laws on multistate and multinational business operations. She has served retailing, manufacturing and financial services companies in planning for the unique implications of multistate income and sales/use tax provisions on business activities.
Kenneth Zemsky specializes in multistate corporate and personal income taxes with a concentration in New York State and New York City tax law. He has over 33 years of experience and primarily works with multistate corporate taxpayers with presence in the tri-state area, high net worth individuals, alternative investment funds and owner- operated businesses.
Raymond Freda has over 17 years of experience in state and local tax and advising clients with respect to income/franchise, capital, gross receipts, sales and use, property, employment and other state industry specific excise taxes. His corporate clients range from early stage to Fortune 100 companies and he provides the following services: tax compliance, tax planning and restructuring, voluntary disclosure agreement advisory services, audit defense and negotiated settlement representation.
