Javier Vinuesa Joins Andersen Tax & Legal in Madrid Leading its Tax Department

Andersen Tax & Legal in Spain announces the addition of Javier Vinuesa as a Partner in the Madrid office as the head of its tax department, which gives the domestic and international tax capabilities of the firm a boost in the process.

Vinuesa has a degree in Economics and Business studies from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a degree in Law from the Universidad Europea de Madrid. He also holds a Master’s degree in Tax Law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues & Andersen.

With a career in tax consulting spanning more than 19 years, Vinuesa is a specialist in international tax, with vast experience in investments by Spanish groups overseas and in foreign investment in Spain.

Vinuesa began his career at the Swiss firm Fidiman, which specializes in international tax. After that, in 2000, he joined the team at Cuatrecasas, where he continued to develop his career in the same area. In 2005, he joined the firm Padrol Munté, where he was a Partner in 2008. A year later this firm became a part of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, where Vinuesa worked as a Partner.

During this time he has led transactional tax teams, advising on M&A operations, restructurings, refinancing operations, property transactions, etc. and providing services to corporate and private clients in coordination with wealth management departments at several financial institutions.

Vinuesa has been recognized by the international guide Chambers & Partners in the area of Tax and Private Wealth Law. He is a lecturer in the Master II program of the School of Law at the University of Sorbonne (Paris) and in the Master’s degree in Sports Law at ISDE, as well as a regular speaker at international seminars and congresses organized by the International Bar Association (IBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA).

The Managing Partner of Andersen Tax & Legal in Spain, Jaime Olleros, has highlighted Javier Vinuesa’s career path and stated that the new appointment represents, "A new boost to the tax area that allows the firm to respond more effectively to the incipient demand for services for operations that have an international component.” In doing so, he has framed this appointment within the context of the growth strategy adopted by the firm, both within Spain and overseas.
