MacNeil to Cover Tax Accounting Issues in Mergers and Acquisitions

The event will cover recent developments in regulations governing F reorganizations, transfer pricing, and certain outbound transfers of property to foreign corporations in addition to some of the expected topics the IRS and Treasury will tackle next. Ellen is co-presenting “Tax Accounting Issues in Mergers and Acquisitions”, covering tax accounting issues arising in taxable and tax-free acquisitions and dispositions; treatment of M&A expenses; success-based fees; milestone payments; break-up fees; abandoned transactions; capitalized costs; recent regulations; accounting method issues.

Ellen MacNeil is the Managing Director of US National Tax for Andersen. She has over 30 years of experience in tax consulting for major U.S. businesses. Ellen has served on the Board of Directors of The Tax Council. She has also served as chair of the ABA Taxation Section’s Tax Accounting Committee and chair of the AICPA’s Tax Accounting Committee. She has chaired the ABA Taxation Section’s Committee on Government Submissions and has also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the AICPA’s Tax Division.
