Shah to Speak on California State & Local Tax

Created by the state legislature in 1927, the State Bar is a public corporation within the judicial branch of government, serving as an arm of the California Supreme Court. All State Bar members are officers of the court.

The 2016 Annual Meeting of the California Tax Bar and California Tax Policy Conference, a premier California tax education event, is organized by the State Bar of California. It will take place at the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa from October 26 – 28, 2016. Shail Shah will participate in the panel, “Hindsight is 20/20: The Legislative Year in Review” with Legislative Tax Committee staff and Legislative Directors from the Franchise Tax Board and Board of Equalization. Together they will share their perspectives on why things happened the way they did in 2016 and what the landscape may look like for the coming year. The panel will also provide some insight on possible effects of the upcoming election on California tax law.

Shail Shah is a member of the State and Local Tax group. Shail began his career in tax in 2006 and has significant experience advising clients in areas such as resolution of state tax controversies, state and local tax planning opportunities and buy-side and sell-side state and local tax due diligence.
