Tauber Presenting at Chicago Tax Club Meeting

The Chicago Tax Club (CTC) is a nonprofit association consisting of individual tax professionals employed by corporations and other businesses. The Chicago Tax Club will host their monthly meeting on April 2, 2018 from 10:00am-11:15am. The meeting will focus on indirect and operational taxes. It will also explore how states have applied anti-avoidance doctrines to indirect taxes and how taxpayers can respond. Andersen Managing Director, Jim Tauber, will be the moderator for this meeting. 

Jim Tauber has more than 30 years of experience providing accounting, tax, technology and consulting services in various areas of state and local indirect tax. Specifically, Jim assists companies with most aspects of indirect/transaction tax compliance and planning including: tax controversies (audit defense, appeals, settlement negotiations), outsourcing, exemption certificate management, M&A (sell-side, buy-side, due diligence and post-transaction integration), nexus reviews, procedure/policy manuals, process review/automation, refund analysis, Sarbanes-Oxley consulting (process documentation, testing & remediation), tax determination tools, tax software implementation, training, transactional analysis, and voluntary disclosure/amnesty participation. Jim has also assisted clients with unclaimed property compliance including process review/improvement, liability remediation, and participation in voluntary disclosure/amnesty programs.

The main goal of the CTC is to provide educational and networking events for their members to help them identify and resolve tax compliance, planning and audit issues relating to employers.The CTC is also dedicated to the professional development of their members, promoting an interchange of ideas and mutual assistance among members and providing the opportunity to participate in accredited continuing professional education programs (CPE and CLE).
