Tillett to Speak on State and Local Issues of M&A Transactions
WTAS Managing Director, Monica Tillett, will speak as a guest lecturer at Georgetown University Law School on April 3, 2012. The discussion will include an overview of state and local tax issues of mergers and acquisitions, with respect to the target preparing for the sale; due diligence issues of the acquirer; successor and predecessor liability; and other post-transaction considerations.
Tillett has over 15 years of experience in providing clients with tax planning services in many areas of state and local tax, including income/franchise taxes, sales/use taxes and gross receipts taxes. She has extensive experience with large multistate clients and large client engagements in a variety of industries. Her state consulting and compliance experience includes controversy matters, state tax restructurings, apportionment methodology, state tax nexus determinations, and FAS 109/FIN 48 reviews.
