Andersen Tax to Participate in IRS Valuation Summit 2014

The Appraisal Institute is a global association of real estate appraisers, with nearly 23,000 valuation professionals in almost 60 countries throughout the world. Its mission is to advance professionalism and ethics, global standards, methodologies, and practices through the professional development of property economics worldwide. In 2010, the Southern California of the Appraisal Institute (SCCAI) held the inaugural IRS Valuation Summit for appraisers in Los Angeles drawing rave reviews from all who attended; the event has grown in size and popularity every year since.

This year, the IRS Valuation Summit 2014 has moved to D.C. and will take place on October 21, 2014 at the Grand Hyatt Washington. The program covers a wide range of topics related to tax and valuation including recent court cases, IRS insight and the current regulatory environment.

Eric Garfield will moderate a session titled “Current Outlook on Tax Legislation and Regulation,” which also includes Andersen Tax National Tax Office Managing Director Ross Nager as a panelist.

David Bradt is a panelist on a session titled “Conservation Easements - Issues and Answers & Non-Cash Charitable Donations of Real Estate.”

Eric Garfield entered the field of commercial real estate in the early 1990s and is licensed in several U.S. States as a Certified General Appraiser, including California and Florida. As part of Andersen Tax’s Valuation Services Group, Eric performs valuation analysis and consulting assignments for estate planning, estate tax, financial reporting (ASC Topics 805, 350, 360 and 820), bankruptcy, ad valorem, litigation support and financing. His clientele includes attorneys, accountants, lenders, trust officers and developers.

Ross Nager has over 35 years of experience in family wealth planning and family business consulting, working extensively in planning for ultra high net worth families and closely-held businesses in numerous industries. His direct involvement in resolving succession and other dynamic issues unique to family owned businesses has resulted in him being quoted in national publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fortune, Forbes, Family Business, Business Week and Nation’s Business

David Bradt has 39 years of experience in tax practice. He has extensive experience providing investment consulting, tax planning, financial planning, family wealth planning and tax-reporting services to high net worth individuals, family offices, corporate executives and family business owners.
