Hogan Presenting at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the CA Tax Bar and CA Tax Policy Conference
The 2017 Annual Meeting of the California Tax Bar and California Tax Policy Conference, a leading California tax education event, is organized by the State Bar of California. It will take place at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort on November 1-3, 2017 in Carlsbad, CA. Jim Hogan, Andersen Managing Director, will be co-presenting on the topic of “Hot Off the Press: Post-Election Current Developments and Audit Issues.” This presentation will include updates from the IRS in DC, changes to legislature and regulations, and current trends in gift and estate tax audits.
Jim Hogan has over 35 years of legal and accounting experience and was most recently a Branch Chief in Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Office of the Chief Counsel. In that role, he had responsibility for all matters relating to estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues. In addition, he reviewed briefs filed by IRS in the United States Tax Court and memoranda to attorneys in the Department of Justice. Jim is a part of the US National Tax team in the Andersen Washington, D.C. office location, serving as a resource for international taxation.
